Jessica… This pastel drawing was number 2 in a series of 3. These 3 pieces caused me to work with materials that were new to me. To grow. This piece became a portrait of my daughter Jessica. Everything just fit. The softness of the new tools just fascinated me. I felt invulnerable as this work came together. Layer after layer of pastel… quickly diminished with the swish of a brush… then redefined. Time seemed to vanish. The hardest thing about this drawing was when was enough , enough . I pray that the viewer feels I arrived at the right place to get off at .
